Gold allegedly made a promise to halve his World Series Of Poker winnings with a TV development executive in exchange for helping bring celebrities to the event.

Jamie Gold, a television producer, has been sued Aug. 28th by a fellow Television industry executive for allegedly failing to keep a verbal promise to split his $12 million earnings with him.

Bruce Crispin Leyser, a British born TV development executive now based in Los Angeles said in his lawsuit that he and Gold had agreed to share hsi winnings in the tournament in exchange for a favor he did for Gold.

Gold had solicited Leyser’s help in bringing in celebrities to play in the series and wear Bodog’s brand, the company that sponsored Gold’s $10,000 buy-in. Leyser brough in Matthew Lillard and Dax Shepard and now he wants Gold to hand his $6 million over.

“The defendant now refuses to provide me with 50 percent of the winnings, as we had previously agreed upon,” Leyser wrote in an affidavit filed with the suit, which also seeks additional money for punitive damages and attorneys’ fees.

A Las Vegas judge has issued a restraining order on Gold, preventing him from claiming his prize money.

Leyser claims that he has in his possession as evidence of their verbal agreement, a voicemail recordin of Gold assuring Leyser that he will get his half.

“You’ve trusted me the whole way, you can trust me a little bit more. I promise you there’s no way anybody will go anywhere with your money. It’s your money. All right, I send you love,” the suit quotes Gold as saying.
