David Carruthers, Bet on Sports CEO, was detained and arrested on charges of federal racketeering by agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Internal Recenue Service last Sunday. He is not expected to be granted bail and a judge will determine which federal facility he will be held at while awaiting trial.
The FBI confirmed that David Carruthers, Chief Executive Officer of BetonSports was held and detained by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and by the Inland Revenue Service.

Carruthers, a British national, was held late Sunday night at the Dallas airport, while he was with his wife, traveling on his way home from the UK to Costa Rica.

According to the FBI spokesperson, CEO Carruthers, will be appearing at the hearing of Federal Court House in Forth Worth, Texas on Monday.

The FBI arrested Carruthers with a warrant of arrest and he was said to have spent Sunday night in the Tarrant county jail.

Sources said that Carruthers will be charged under Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, the RICO Act, or the federal racketeering status.

He will be charged along with eleven other individuals associated with the company in the past.

The federal warrant was issued with a sealed indictment. The hearing will decide the rights and possible bail conditions of Carruthers. Immediate sources said that Caruthers will be unlikely to be allowed on bail.

The hearing will also decide which Federal Correctional Institute Caruthers will be detained at.

Caruthers was traveling along with his wife, Carol Caruthers, but she was released immediately.
